Lunatica is a BAFTA Cymru-winning Film & TV production company run by husband-and-wife team Miranda Ballesteros and Michael Yates.

Miranda Ballesteros is a Spanish-UK producer, writer and director. Her first feature as producer, FARMING starring Damson Idris and Kate Beckinsale, premiered at TIFF 2018, won Edinburgh's Michael Powell Award for Best British Feature and was released theatrically by Lionsgate and eOne. In 2025, she produced Spanish-UK dramedy LEO & LOU, which received A-list festival awards and Goya and Critics’ Circle nominations. Most recently, she produced David Turpin's Screen Ireland-backed ANCESTORS, selected for Cannes' GREAT8 showcase and premiering at TIFF 2026.

Michael Yates is a producer and writer with a decade of experience across international sales, distribution and financing for Metro International. His credits include TIFF 2017 premiere JOURNEY'S END, Sony's Agatha Christie adaptation CROOKED HOUSE, Irvine Welsh-penned Sky Original CREATION STORIES and recent Lionsgate US release SALVABLE. Alongside producing for Lunatica, he is writing an Austrian Film Institute-backed dark comedy and working with BAFTA-nominated director Oliver Parker’s production company, Anyway Content.
